So on down the road we went, packed to the brim. This is a new era in the family life of the Webers; both girls are now at the age where a bag of chapter books, a coloring book, some colors, a couple of CDs, and snacks were enough for a 12 hour car ride. Amazing! Friday evening we stopped at Boonville for the night, due to the forecast, which was predicting downpour rain, that would eventually flood the area. At this point in our lives, we have driven through enough of those downpours to know that it really isn’t worth the stress, plus we were tired.
Saturday we drove for another six hours, and arrived in Nashville a little before it was time to eat dinner. Very excited girls bounded out of the Subaru Forester “we’re finally here!”
So indeed, we are finally here. The day is less than 24 hours away that we have been working toward for essentially four years. Songs written, producer chosen and met, funds raised. Dreaming of the vision for the Table Grace album, and trusting ever more that it is God leading in His timing that has brought us to this juncture.
Tomorrow we will all head to the studio with producer Dennis Dearing and musicians, Mark Burchfield (Bass), Tom Hemby (Guitars), Paul Nelson (Cello), Scott Williamson (Drums), Scott Brasher (String Arrangements), Bret Teegarden (Engineer).
The day in the studio tomorrow will be spent on 8 songs, recording the piano, guitar, bass and drums, with what is called a scratch vocal over the top to guide what we do with the instrumentals. Scratch just means it is not the final vocal. Stay tuned for more info as the recording journey continues. Thank you for your support and prayers!
Happy Father’s Day to all!!
