The music with a mission this past Tuesday was a lot of fun. It was great to bring back some songs from the 60s and 70s with a variety of guitar players, a drummer, singers and a keyboard. You wouldn’t think all those people (7 at one point) plus instruments would fit in the tiny corner by the window, but we made it work. We had a full dining room too. There was a team of volunteers assisting in the kitchen from the Catholic youth serve program, as well as regular walk in customers, and another large group.
The unpredictability of the daily patronage and volunteers makes for surprises around every corner. That keeps things interesting and hard to pin down. You never really know what inspires people to walk into Table Grace on any given day. Or what inspires an entire host of people to be there at the same time on a day like Tuesday.
We are hosting another day of Music with a mission on Friday (tomorrow) at 1pm this week. There will be a group in from out of town with a couple of musicians that want to participate, so if you happen to be in the area for lunch, come on down to Table Grace at 1pm.
